Particularities

The new Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine on the premises of the University Hospital Olomouc provides a modern technological infrastructure. It became a platform for molecular-oriented basic and translational biomedical research in the Czech Republic in order to better understand the molecular basis of cancer and infectious diseases. The building has an arc-shaped plan following the contour lines. It is designed as a monolithic reinforced concrete structure with façades of steel and glass. The longitudinal curved walls stretching towards the south-west are not parallel to one another.
