As part of the “Annex to the Theoretical Institutes Building, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Palacký University Olomouc” project, a new buil- ding was constructed with the primary objective of expanding the capa- city of lecture space, classrooms, laboratories and other school facilities – including the separate morphology labs. The Theoretical Institutes Building, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Palacký University Olomouc represents a major research and teaching facility in the area of biomedi- cine at Palacký University.

The building has a T-shaped floor plan with a total area of 16,443 m2, six floors above the ground and one underground floor with different levels of terrain elevation at the main entrance and the morphology labs. Both the new and the original buildings have common unifying elements.
