Details

The new building of MCEV II is situated on the Czech University of Life Sciences campus with an area of more than 34 ha in Prague 6 – Suchdol. It will provide new teaching, technical and social areas, including facilities for three departments: the Department of Quality of Agricultural Products and the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural resources, and also the Department of Applied Ecology at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. The urban design concept anticipates logical building layout with regard to connection with MCEV I along with the closure of three interconnected buildings. It is connected to the existing MCEV I building between the 1st and 5th floor via a passageway. The supporting system of the building is designed as a monolithic reinforced concrete frame in combination with pillar and wall frames. Technical areas, the electrical centre and indoor parking are situated on the 1st underground floor. Teaching rooms and laboratories are situated on the 1st and 2nd floor. Offices with laboratories and study rooms or studios are situated on the 3rd to 6th floors. The roof is designed as a habitable space and will be used as a so‑called green roof for lessons. The building is designed to be used as part of the environmental concept with operational efficiency requirements at a level of Energy Efficient to Very Energy Efficient.
