Opening of the most modern Faculty of Medicine in the Czech Republic

On the 8th of November 2022, the Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Pilsen officially presented the newly completed campus, so called UniMec II, that we handed over to the investor for use this year. We could not miss the ceremony. Ing. Jaromír Uhýrek, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GEMO a.s., took charge of the cutting ceremony together with the academics, political and public administration guests.

The investor’s intention was to build the premise of the University Medical Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Pilsen, that would contain all parts of the medical faculty in the final state.

These are the theoretical institutes with their facilities- the modern premises for the practical teaching and research, the supporting departments- the administrative facilities, the IT department, the technical department and finally the catering facilities including the kitchen. The premise can accommodate approximately 1800 students and approximately 290 employees. The kitchen capacity is up to 1500 meals per day.

The new building is built on the area of 6 610m2 and has 3 underground and 6 above-ground storeys with the total area of 39 417m2 and the enclosed area of 162 114m3. The building includes the underground garages for 174 cars.

We are very pleased that the intension was implemented.
