Horácká Arena Has Been Nominated for the 2026 Building of the Year Award

This nomination represents a major recognition for everyone involved in the project, while confirming the exceptional architectural and construction quality of the new multifunctional arena, which has become a landmark sports and cultural venue for Jihlava and the entire Vysočina Region.

Construction of the Horácká Arena began in July 2023 and took 26 months, including the demolition of the original structure. GEMO acted as the general contractor for the project, overseeing the complete execution of the construction. The investor was the Statutory City of Jihlava, supported by the Vysočina Region and the National Sports Agency. The architectural design was created by the CHYBIK + KRISTOF studio.

The winners of the Building of the Year 2026 title will be decided by an expert jury. The results will be officially announced during a gala ceremony on Monday, November 16, 2026, at the Rudolfinum in Prague.
