We have started the construction of the new building of the FoE of the VSB-TUO

The ceremony took place in the presence of the VSB-TUO Rector prof. Václav Snášel, the Dean of the VSB-TUO Faculty of Economics doc. Vojtěch Spáčil, the Deputy of the Moravian-Silesian Regional Council President for education Mgr. Stanislav Folwarznyh, and the representatives of the association of the construction companies of the Business Director of the Division of the Hochtief, a.s. company Ing. Martin Stančík and the Moravia and Slovakia Division Director and member of the GEMO a.s. Board of Directors Ing. Ondřej Foukal.

The new building will be a part of the university campus behind the H building and will replace the original, outdated and unsuitable object of the Faculty of Economics in the town centre.

“Our campus has 40 hectares, it is one of the biggest campuses in the Central Europe. When we get the Faculty of Economics here, the student square will be created with the FoE in the centre. So, the campus will get the natural structure. Getting the FoE students here is the key aspect for the future (region) transformation,” says Snášel.

The new five-storey building will include the classrooms, study rooms, underground parking, rest zones and the observation terrace. The wheelhouse will not be missing. The building will be low-energy and should save the running costs significantly. The building should be finished by the summer 2024.
