With the slogan “Construction is our passion,” GEMO a.s., the festival’s general partner, welcomed visitors to the GEMO booth in the Upper Square. Attendees had the chance to try many interesting and unconventional activities.

At the GEMO Mixing Bar, cocktails were served by professional bartenders. A major attraction was a real construction mixer in a “pink” colour, from which the “Beton” (Concrete, editorial note) drink – Becherovka & Tonic – was poured. There was also a pink construction wheelbarrow filled with sand and drinks.

For children, the GEMO Tetris game was a unique experience, created specifically from oversized soft blocks. Children could use their spatial skills to fit the pieces together to form the right combination and win prizes.

Another fascinating attraction was the 3D photo booth, which, using 9 cameras, captured “frozen” movements into an engaging GIF that visitors could immediately send via email and share on social media. The popular photo wall with face holes and a construction theme was also available.

The organizers also considered families with children, providing a rich program within the kids’ zone at the Olomouc Summer Cinema. GEMO provided a new sandbox with toy excavators for children. The sandbox will remain in the garden of the Summer Cinema even after the festival.

GEMO also prepared a House of cards building competition as part of magician Antonín Brtník’s performance at Olodvork on Lower Square. The program included access to the open observation deck of the Town Hall Tower. In the “Haná Jede” with Lukáš Krbeček” discussion zone, GEMO’s Mgr. Milena Kysučanová, Director of the HR & Marketing Director, was a guest.

The “Olomouc (o)žije” festival brought more than a hundred bands and solo artists to the streets of the city, playing a variety of music genres from rock to pop, chanson, jazz, and folk music. Some of the main stars of the festival included the drumming show Jumping Drums, saxophonist KJ SAX, who has played for former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and the popular New Street Band. Other performances included Brass Avenue, chanson singer La Boujeau, local Blues Power, and many other talented musicians and bands.

The festival stood out for its openness, with visitors roaming the city’s streets to discover musical and dance performances as well as new places and friends. As is traditional, the festival featured a community breakfast in the Upper Square, where people could share their homemade treats and support the nonprofit organization “Dobré místo pro život”.

As expected by the organizers, the festival was attended by up to 25,000 people, confirming its status as the largest street event in the Czech Republic. Thanks to the support of the general partner GEMO a.s. and collaboration with the main partner Kaufland and the Via Foundation, the festival helped Olomouc experience a day filled with joy, music, and shared community spirit.
