GEMO a.s., a construction and development company and a major player in the building construction sector, has appointed a new HR Director. Ilona Vavřinová, an experienced manager, brings nearly twenty years of expertise in team leadership and project management both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Her current focus will be on the further development of the company’s personnel strategy.

Ilona Vavřinová joined GEMO following a tenure of more than thirteen years at the recruitment agency ManpowerGroup, where she led recruitment and sales teams across the Czech Republic and internationally. She was involved in managing large-scale projects and assisted companies in identifying and developing the people responsible for their performance. Her experience across sales, HR, and manufacturing environments allows her to view company operations within a broader context.

“Today, I do not view HR as merely administrative support, but as a fully-fledged component of company management. My goal is to ensure that people management is firmly linked to the company’s strategic direction. This requires systematic talent management, care for existing employees, as well as sophisticated recruitment and high-quality onboarding of new colleagues. I joined GEMO with the intention of supporting its further development and strengthening the teams with both experienced professionals and graduates seeking long-term prospects and meaningful work with visible results,” says Ilona Vavřinová, the new HR Director of GEMO.

A stable and strong team as a competitive advantage

GEMO has long been built on a solid corporate culture, an open atmosphere, and professional foundations. On this basis, the new HR Director intends to further develop a recruitment strategy that aligns with the firm’s growth ambitions and appeals to both seasoned experts and talented graduates in technical fields. She will also place emphasis on fair and transparently defined conditions in which employees can develop over the long term. Her priorities also include building a strong and authentic employer brand, which is intended to stem naturally from the character of this Czech company with over thirty years of tradition.

“The goal is not to change what is already working, but to give the HR department a clear place within the company’s management. In an industry where the availability of high-quality people often determines success, sophisticated team management can represent the difference between stagnation and stable growth,” adds Ilona Vavřinová.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, sports, and travelling. She is interested in personal development and has a long-standing interest in leadership and talent management.
