On 29th of April 2025, a new sports hall and canteen were officially opened for the Higher Vocational School and Secondary Technical School of Civil Engineering Dušní in Prague. The project, which GEMO carried out as the general contractor over the course of nearly two years, required an investment of almost 130 million CZK.

The school has seen a significant expansion of its campus. The newly constructed canteen, which accommodates 200 diners, also includes a spacious serving area, and a new lift has been installed to ensure barrier-free access. The sports hall, built in the courtyard, features a green roof. Along with a 25×15-metre playing field, changing rooms, and a small fitness area, it provides the civil engineering students with high-quality facilities for physical education — something the school had previously lacked.

The grand opening was attended by representatives of the school, the investor – the City of Prague – as well as members of the project implementation team. Representing GEMO, project manager Peter Baulovič had the honour of cutting the ribbon.

“I’m very pleased that such a great team came together for this project – from the construction team to representatives of the school and the investor. I’m proud that we managed to complete the gym, canteen, and adjoining basement successfully and on schedule,” said Peter Baulovič, who is also a graduate of the school.
