GEMO OLOMOUC, spol. s r.o. is actively involved in the community life of the Olomouc region, particularly as regards sports, culture and charity projects.

Sports

The company's most important activity is support of the SK Sigma Olomouc football club, followed by sponsorship of the HC OLOMOUC hockey club and the basketball club of Palacký University in Olomouc. In addition, GEMO also contributes to the development of talented young athletes and helps finance smaller sports clubs in the Olomouc region.

Culture

GEMO OLOMOUC is an important partner of the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc, particularly for the annual Flora Theatre Festival. Our company was nominated for the 2005 "Patron of Culture" award for our support of the Moravian Theatre. We cooperate with the Gong Arts Agency in organizing concerts, theatre performances, entertainment shows, and other stage programs, and have been an important sponsor of the "Haná Festival" in Náměšť na Hané for a number of years. We also support additional events held in the Olomouc region such as the annual Marshal Radecký Celebrations and the Olomouc Architecture and Building Days.

Humanitarian Activities

Our company helped in the construction of the Jasněnka Centre for mentally handicapped children in the town of Uničov and in the restoration of the facade for the Sluníčko Children's Day Care Centre in Olomouc.
Each year we also support several projects organized by Caritas in Olomouc, Caritas in Šternberk and the civic group SPOLU (TOGETHER).
GEMO OLOMOUC made a financial contribution to the Associated Child Care Facilities in Olomouc for the reconstruction of the Infant Care Institute at U Dětského domova 2 into a family-type facility. The patron of this project is Czech supermodel and Olomouc native Veronika Vařeková.
We also donated CZK 1 million to the Haimaom Foundation in Olomouc to support a transplant program aimed at improving the treatment of patients with hemato-oncological diseases.
Along with GEMO SPORT a.s., GEMO OLOMOUC contributed CZK 500,000 to Sdružení Šance (Chance Association) of Olomouc in September, 2008, on the occasion of the opening of the new sports centre in the town. The goal of this donation was to support treatment for children with hematological and oncological diseases.
