Award Ceremony for the 2007 Olomouc Region Athlete of the Year

On Tuesday 5 February 2008 the ceremonial gala evening to announce the winners of the awards for the top athletes and teams in the Olomouc Region for the year 2007 was held at the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc. The sponsor of the survey to select the leading sports representatives of the Olomouc Region in 5 sporting categories is the Olomouc Region in cooperation with the agency TK PLUS, s.r.o.

For the third year running twenty-two-year-old tennis player Tomáš Berdych of Prostějov took home the top prize. Canoeist Tomáš Slovák and autocross driver Ladislav Hanák finished in second and third place, respectively. The top team prize was awarded to the Olomouc women’s handball team.

For the second year the main partner of this prestigious charity event was the firm GEMO OLOMOUC, spol. s r.o.
